Architecture
is more than four walls and a ceiling. Architecture not only encloses
and defines space, but it has the potential to affect people's lives
in powerful direct ways. A well-designed building can inspire awe
or create intimacy, intimidate or welcome visitors. Creative architecture
can tell a story, invoke a history lesson, or present a vision of
the future. Like it or not, every building makes a statement. A
skilled architect recognizes this inherent fact and will create
not only a functional, attractive structure, but one which will
also reflect the character and vision of its owner, all within the
owner's economic framework.
- Effective use of light, Creative use of three-dimensional space,
Incorporation of fire and water where possible (elemental inspiration:
air, light, fire, water).
-
Blending of interior and exterior spaces "where does outside end
and inside begin?"
-
Develop and enhance character of buildings already possessing
it. Add character to buildings which lack it.
-
Interesting uses of materials. Incorporation of newest technologies,
once proven in effectiveness.
-
Designing "outside of the box" for a fresh new look.
-
Balancing aesthetics with the responsibility of budgets.
